about the engine

2002 grand am.I have a rebuilt grand am and it has a 2.4L Twin Cam engine. can someone tell me about the engine? is it good or bad? anything special about it? thanks

as with any engine you hav good ones and you have bad ones. yours is rebuilt, so it wasnt very good and or someone was careless, and didnt take good care of the engine.

at least its a twin cam! just dont overheat it or run it out of oil.

The 2.4 is a reliable engine although it is not an easy engine to work on due to the location of some of the components. The timing chain is a pain to replace as are the thermostat and the water pump. It is not a good engine to hot rod either although some may dispute this statement as performance parts are limited.
