egr removal

i own a 73 cougar with a 351 cleveland motor... and i want to remove the egr valve... that is unless there is a dire need for me to keep it. i was also thinking of seeing if i can convert it to an older style ( without the egr) from say a 351 cj 4v. < probibly be hard to find those heads and intake but that would deffonitely put some more scoot in my cougar. if not a cj then i will probibly convert it to a 4v and try to omit the egr entirely.
