Alternator Help

Hello,

I know nothing about cars but I have to unhook the cable leading to my alternator. To test my brother who is trying to learn more about cars. Can anyone help me?

I'm sorry, I don't think you're the best person to conduct a test like this considering neither of you have any idea what your doing. The alternator wire is charged with 12 volts of electricity, and can knock you to the ground easily.

How are you trying to test him? to see if he can diagnose a problem? I don't think this is a very good idea.
