Perhaps I spoke too soon....

Well, guys and gals, I may have spoken too soon when I said the problems w/ my Quad4 GA were solved. All that work, and there is water in the oil again, and the other day when it rained, it started missing when cold again. :crying:
I've been told to try tracking a bad wire or vacuum line with water to pinpoint the cause of the miss, and I'm going to try that..............I don't think these 2 things are related.
But the other just may be the dreaded H-word. Still not symptomatic except for the oil/water thing, but I'm going to do a compression test this weekend.
Does anyone know what the proper compression reading should be for a 1994 2.3L non-H.O.Quad with 68-69,000 miles?
Thanks, and wish me luck....:1zhelp:

I'm sorry but I couldn't find the compression numbers but you should have at least 100 psi on all cylinders. This sounds like a leaking head gasket or cracked block especially if you have water getting into the oil. I hope I am wrong but that's what it appears to be. Good Luck!!!

My V6 had this problem a couple months back, replaced the LI gasket 3 times! My compression tests all came up 100-110psi on every cylinder. Ended up being the Head Gaskets, just a little tiny spot blowing coolant into the oil.
So good luck automan9482, and hope its the gasket and not a C****.
