Hi everyone,
My 93 J30 is now having problems starting. Recently I changed my spark plugs, NGK's PFR5G-11 (OEM) and fuel filter. The car ran fine for about two weeks since. Now the car has a hard time starting after it is cold.
I read the service manual and it said to check for fuel problems. Well I checked the fuel pump with my volt meter and it had the proper continuity. Next the book said to check the fuel pump relay. I can't get to it.
Is there an easy wat to get to the fuel pump relay?
And what else could be wrong?
My battery is fine and my alternator is going bad, but I don't think that that is the problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Geoff.

check your pcv valve (it's a pain to get to) but you need to replace that too. no clue as to where that relay is though... i'll look for it for you though.

The service manual has the fuel pump relay behind the A/T controller. But I don't know where that is.

I have a 93 J30 and i have been having serious starting problems. My dad thought it was the ignition switch (since it was too hard to change) We just decided to put an enire new steering column in. Well , it did not work!! Some days it will start with no problem and then there are days that it would not. Sometimes you could be driving and it would just die on me. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem would be Thanks>:banghead:

could be your starter or something else with your electrical system. check your alternator and battery also.
