it's not going bad (yet), but i hear it's only rate like 70 amps :screwy:

i want more power...(don't we all)

i've heard of getting the stock alt rewound for higher output (where to go?)--i've heard of installing a higher output alt (with a special pigtail thingy --found on 4x4wire.com) anyone have any experience on this?

then also, what about mounting it up higher, would it hurt anything to change the position of the alt if you made (or found) special brackets to do so?:uhoh:

why? Do you have 50000 watts of stereo equipment?

Its' not going to make your truck run better.

no

i know...

i just think i should....:smokin:

i do, however, want to run more lights on top and around the truck (maybe being able to have them all on at once--offroad of course)

haven't you ever wanted needless stuff before?:attention

realistically, how many aftermarket electical devices can we add with the alternator we have. I'd like to add some lights as well as a nice amp or two. Would I be alright?

Did you even try looking? :evillol: It took me all of about 2 minutes to find a 90A alternator for '99 Rodeo. http://replacement.autopartswarehouse.com/parts/autopartswarehouse/quote.jsp?year=1999&product=F4000-102201&application=000454545&part=Alternator&dp=true

yeah, but that's 90 amps...

i'd like something in the range of 110-130 amps...:grinyes:
