My 99 came with a d code xmsn and when it kicked the bucket I replaced it with a t code xmsn.I replaced the flywheel and clutch and everything. Now my throwout bearing is going out and I am going to have to tear it down and replace it.My question is can I go back with a d code clutch if I get the flywheel to go with it.Other than gears the flywheel and clutch is the only difference in the 2 xmsns that I can tell. They mounted up the same and seem to be the same dimensions.Help would be great because I am planning on tearing it down this weekend and need to get my stuff ordered.I am planning on a Centerforce clutch and a stock flywheel because the clutch is going to set me back enougg.

Where are you getting the "D" and "T" codes from? Irregardless they should interchange freely as the main difference between the 1st gen neon trannies are gear ratios.

D&T codes are the 11th digit of the vin.It tells you if the car was assembled in the Belvedere or Talouca assembly plant.Apparently the ones built in mexico have like an inch thick flywheel and the ones from Michigan have a much thinner one. There is also another number that tells what country the car was built in.As far as I can tell about interchangeability it should only effect the travel of the clutch pedal.

I thought you were talking about the transmission vin...I know about the car vin. You confused me, because you said when your tranny went out you replaced with this code, so I thought you were referring to the tranny. They should interchange fine.
