I was looking at an 02, LS 2wd that has 165K on the motor. I talked to my mechanic that only deals with GM stuff and he said he hasnt had and TB's in for motor related problems, just minor stuff. Should I be leary of the fact that it has this many miles on it? he is only asking $7500 and it has a few parking lot dings but overall the body and interior are in good shape..plus it has a new set of 20's on it. Also, the drivers side door pops when you open it. Its seems to be coming from the hinge area, not contacting the fender making the noise. What do you guys think?
Thanks

My problem with this is you need to have reasonable maintenance records here, any engine trouble with this engine is very expensive. Obviously the miles were probably hway, but the deals dpends on condition, cheap is worthless if you have problems. That year TB was problematic to begin with. 2wd is very undesirable in that truck, but down south I guess it may not be as much of an issue.

Yeah I did some reading and found that the 02 had a lot of problems. I don't mind a 2wd, would actually prefer it as a daily driver because my 88 K5 Jimmy is lifted w/ 35's

I have an 02, a lot of problems, a lot of recalls, a lot of TSBs, but not a lot of concern from Chevy. I would avoid buying the 02s.
