brake lights

i got a 94 civic hatch. ok so when i press the brakes, only my top brake light goes on, the one above the back window. but the ones on the side don't go on. what are the possible problems? i'm thinking i just need to replace the bulbs.

You're on the right track. Check the bulbs. They are probably burnt out.
