:grinno: I just bought a 2000 GT-S!!!! It came lowered with TRD springs and a TRD exhaust. It also has a CAI but I'm not sure what brand it is. Liquid Silver with black ass windows. Just wanted to share my joy with everyone on here. I'll post Pics as soon as it stops snowing and I can get some good shots of it. Oh yea its a 6 speed too!! HA HA!!!:naughty:

Lovin it but I'm takin it back to the dealership to have it checked out. There is a belt screaming under the hood and there is a wierd noise coming from the rear pass side of it. Sounds like something wrong with the suspension but I'm not sure.:banghead: They can fix it or they can keep it. $13 G's is a lot to pay for a car that starts messing up the day you take it home. BTW A PEX I. Not sure what u mean. what do they make for it?

ya, that would suck if it was a lemon

APEXi is a japanese performance company they make alot of good parts

I meant the apex'i programmable power fc for regulating fuel-air ratios etc. I actually thought of getting a gts myself (until I rented out a prius the other day to drive to Las Vegas and found out how fun going 90 mph while spending 85 mpg is!!!...conscientius hybrid energy). Anyway, its typical for dealers to sell you total crap that LOOKS nice. Fixing/diagnosing used cars takes time = more $ to pay mechanics, so dealers are less likely to do it thoroughly. After all, thats what meguiar's products and buffers are for. Hence the warranty's. DO drive a lot to find out everything you're unhappy about. If in doubt, return it, get another one private owned - if engine/mechanical wear n tear are of the same degree...

Yeah dude, I bought a 2001 celica GT from the toyota dealership and the first day I bought it I went to get gas and the thing wouldn't stay started. So then they had to come and tow it from the gas station.

I got it back 3 days later and they said it was the brake booster valve. WRONG because the exact same thing happened again. So they took it in and they fixed the "evapoation purge valve"

3 weeks later one of my piston rods blew through the bottom of my engine block :) I would have to say this car was WAY lemon. But luckily I have an extended warranty. They put a brand new engine in there and the Cat was going too so they put a new one in too while they were at it.

This was all in a month. If you think it's a lemon, it probably is.....

are toyota dealers' mechanics really that incompetent? bc they're sure losing $ doing this shit. "evaporation 'purgatory' valve" ...sounds so complex,- guess they really don't want us to undertand anything. man...that makes those VW's mechanics adorable.

Hey, i'm happy with the service that they did to my car. They put a brand new engine in with no questions asked. So thats a good thing. On the other hand they charged the extended warranty business 98$ per hour.... :) not my problem!

the idiots at the local dealer here say the alternator on my 06 scion is too small, and want to charge me, not the extended warranty to replace it, when I picked it up, on the way home the headlights dimmed and shut off, the radio changes channels on its own, and various s*** like that, yet they refuse to fix it all, sound like a dealer to yall?

yeah dude, those dealers are gay unless you find one that is in need for business. The one i went to is building a new building so they need all the business they can get so they helped me out with getting my engine.

the belts screaming is propably coz the detailer used too much engine spray to clean it. i just picked up a 2000 GT (i love it by the way) from carmax and whenever i first started it, i had that noise. now ive driven it for about 100 miles it has stopped.

Not sure it's a belt anymore. Seems like a bearing or somethin. All I know is its really loud now and I am so f*****g embarrassed to drive it because everyony stares @ me when I pull up to a stoplight. :banghead: I just made an app. to take it in monday morning. They think it's a belt so I hope they still fix it if it's something else.

It's probably the belt tensioner. The 2000 models had a problem with it.. Toyota has a TSB for it. If you are under 3yr/36,000 miles they will cover it.. but looks like you are waaay past that lol.

Wow, I think this the first thead I've ever started that has 2 pages, lol. I looked at some price ranges for the APEX-I FC and just wanted to know if its really worth $900. does it really give that much gain for the money? I do like the idea of changing when the lift kicks in though. :evillol: I don't ever have a chance to go past 6k rpm but when i do it makes me glad I bought the car even though it has problems.

yeah tell me about it. My car had a lot of problems too and i thought these japanesse cars were supposed to to reliable? I don't understand how stuff could be breakin when toyota's and hondas are supposed to be lastin 250 - 300 thousand miles?

My car had 50,000 miles on it when the engine blew....

Is a TSB a recall? If so shouldn't I be able to take it to any Toyota dealership and have it fixed for free? I can do the belt tensioner, but according to this site I found, my lift bolts are prbably screwed too. I have a lot of TSB symptoms that were never taken in and fixed. I don't have the time or the tools necessary to dig into the engine and replace the bolts. Here is the site I found.

Any 7th gen people should check this out if u bought one used.
