geo vs. eclipse

Tonight I was at target and I saw a friend from work. We got to talking, and I brought up my new car. I told him that it wasn't too bad, and could probablly beat his eclipse(ok, i got cocky).

We decided to have a quick highway run. We ran from 80. I was in 4th gear, but at a low rpm, so he pretty easily pulled about half a car, I reeled him in pretty quickly and by about 110mph I had pulled him by about 4-5 car lengths. :sunglasse

I'm sure it would have been different it had been a turbo eclipse though.

What do you have done to your Geo? I can understand maybe one or two of the kills you've had, including this one, but I think either a)your over estimating how much a car length is or b)your bs'n us. I'm hoping its a...

18.2?!?!?!?!?! holy crap!!! there were a couple eclipse RS ones (new ones) that ran 16.1's and those have similar power and weight ... kinda curious why it wasn't lower?

you sure they were rs? cause back when i had my celica i was beating modded out 3.0 gt's and they didnt seem that fast to me. (just for reference I had a 94 2.2 celica gt with only a short ram intake)

actually idk... if i saw a metro at a track id have to know something was up. i mean comon who takes a metro to a track.

the 2 gen 420a eclipses in auto form arent very fast either. they run like high 16s i think.

positive they were RS's, lightest model, 5 speed. i think that's the only thing they had going for them. honestly if a RS was that close to my GT i'd freak out.

the GT/GTS's run mid-low 15's stock... or they should...

i'd say if you still had it i'd run you just to make up for those 3.0's, i kno the "sportronic/automatic" ones don't run better than 16.4 stock so u mighta been racing one of those

Well i'm not doubting they have potential, just that that model never really seemed fast to me, I have people who can vouch for me too, Drifty was in the car with me at the time so you could ask him about it.

Anyways, they delete ANYTHING subversive, and practically every record of my having been a member unless i was on my best behavior. they are assholes like that. Tearstone is the same way on there... practically deleted.

A geo beat an eclipse? Well, good deal for him. I never knew a regular Geo could pull on an eclipse like that (especially at high speeds). Back when I was 16 I raced a Geo with my 1990 Buick LeSabre 3.8L and smoked him (dont ask me why I raced it). Well, good kill.

I raced an Impala tonight from a dig. I had him by a couple car lengths by around 50. I can't really brag though, because it was a 3.4 and I had a couple people in the storm.

I realise i'm gonna get alot of shit for this car, but i'm planning to buy a mini dv camcorder, so you guys can look for some videos at some point.
