will this 2.4 engine work???????

I just spun a bearing on my 2000 z24 and it still runs, but knocks really loud. I need to find a new 2.4. My friend has a "quad 4" out of his 1998 cavalier z24 will it work in my 2000? How long could I drive with this spun bearing? thanks guys.

im not sure about a spun bearing but i had a rod go out in a blazer once and it knocked louder then hell, i got probably 10000 miles out of it (drove it for well over a year) knocking loud as shit and it still ran when i got rid of it,

can anyone help, I really need to know this before i waste my money and time trying something that may not work.

Probally will fit.I have a warning on the 2.4:DO NOT TURN BACKWARDS!Turn the crankshaft as you are tighting a bolt only.If you turn it backwards,you will bend the valves.Get the engine replaced before a rod is thrown out the block.

Cheeper just to fix the engine then get a new/used one.
