besides the fact that my nano is a piece of shit, i have a question. in itunes, what is the little lock symbol mean in the bottom next to the amount of free memory i have?

It means your itunes will try to auto update every time the nano is connected. You hafto change your settings to manually update it, and to manually "eject" it so its safe to remove. Is this why you thought your nano was a POS? I don't have one, but I updated my friends for his. I love them things..

it WAS a pos because it didn't like my usb ports. I added a 2.0 board to my comp a few years back and the ipod would connect and disconnect randomly. When i plug it into the ports that came with th emotherboard, it works fine. I love it now. thanks for the above info.
