i recently have been having a weird problem with my 87 4runner EFI no turbocharge. It starts and runs great, until the temp falls below 30 deg, then it will not start, it seems like the fuel pump isn't operating. i loosened the cold start gas line and cranked the engine no fuel comes out. i also checked the cold start circuit and cold start valve and they check good. i thought it might have been water in the gas so i put in dry gas last week and still had the problem when the temp fell. this has happened 3 times already in the last 3 weeks so its no coincidence. temp above 30 no problem below 30 it's like the fuel pump doesn't run

You can check the pump and pressure by "jumpering" the fuel pump to be active at the check engine block.
Not sure for your year and model but chase down what enables your fuel pump. MAF sensor movement in the V6 enables the fuel pump but I can't remember what it is for the 4cyl.
A guess would be that what ever enables the fuel pump is sticking in cold weather.
The fuel pump enable is a safety feature that makes sure the electric fuel pump is ONLY running when the engine is running.
Does it want to try to start only when starting? there is a bypass enable when starting.
Good luck
