HElP ME

Well i finally got my slave cylinder today, 3 and a half weeks later...and i also got a SS braided clutch line, their in, but now I cant get pressure in my clutch, i keep bleeding it and its not helping...what the hell should i do now?

maybe the clase wasnt leaking? what made you think it was? It could have very well been the clutch master cylinder.

Mine wouldnt go into gear because my stock rubber line had a hole in it. It couldnt hold the pressure and leaked out pretty fast. If your clutch fluid resovoir is going empty it must be leaking somewhere. You should trace the lines from the clutch master cylinder up to the slave and look for leaks. If you dont find any and you are still losing fluid then maybe it is leaking inside the clutch master cylinder.

How often would you have to refill your clutch fluid due to regular use?

well im getting a new master cylinder tonight, lets hope that works...probably wont get it installed untill friday night...well hopefully, had to go get x-rays today when i got home from school, its seeming that i might have broken something in my hand while putting in the other stuff...haha the price we pay

But that's because you were leaking right? What if you weren't leaking? How often would you have to fill then?

And wow, broken hand....that's crazy. I know what you mean though. Certain areas that I stick my hand are just so twisted that it's only a matter of time...**knock on wood**

Ive had my car for a little over six months now, i never had any problem except for the past few months when it started leaking out...ya it sucks, i was pulling on a wrench and just slipped off...and slammed into something not so soft...ha

Personally, while the slave and master cylinders are good places to start, as mentioned above perhaps it was simply a hole in a line. It happened to my friend's Maxima. Before buying parts, always try and locate the exact leak...it's cheaper in the long run.

And slade, you shouldn't have to refill your clutch fluid if it isn't leaking. But it is a good idea to change it out maybe every year or two and bleed it, just as good preventative maintainence like changing any other fluid.

Uh oh, I think I'm leaking then. I don't have to refill very often but I believe I have to refill about once a year. Ugh....how can fluid that leaks that slowly be traced?

That's a tough one. I mean you could pressure test it or something I would assume. But finding that small of a leak obviously would be hard. Personally, I wouldn't worry about it until/if it gets worse.

well i just got dont installing the master cylinder, still have to bleed it though to see if it worked...4 and a half hours...about 3 of them trying to get the hard line off...completely rounded off...so a trip to sears later and with the help of a file its dont...ha now i hope it worked

I give up, its still doing the same damn thing, clutch pedal come up a little but thats it, i think im just gonna call a tow truck to come get it tomarrow and take it to the garage....

Finally some good news, Shes up and running...shifts like a dream so in the end it all worked out...and my hand isnt broken either, just severely bruised and some torn ligaments...
