In Progress: Yushimura Hayabusa X-1

Started this bike a few weeks ago and here's how far I have got:

I have already built the original Suzuki Hayabusa but this bike has some nice upgrades and a more agressive look.

I have also decided to use braided hose for the first time rather than the black piping you get with the kit which is so small its taking alot of time but I think it will be well worth it, although most of the braided hose will be hidden once finished:

How it should look when finished.

Engine completed and fixed into frame.

And started working on the cowling smoothing the three sections into one.

I thought about picking up this kit a while back.

Motor looks good; You're off to a promising start!

Thanks for the comments so far and Klutz_100 I will try my best to give you lots of details.

As for the braided hose I got mine from Tower Hobbies in America. As I can't find anywhere that sells it in England. Here a link to there website:http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0097p?CATEGORY=SK

It's builds like this that finally made me buy a Motrocycle kit. The Ducati Desmosedici.
Although not the same bike at all, the inspiration in your build is all I need.
Great work!
Chris

Sucks about the tire. Fix it now, while you can, or it will bug you forever and you'll wreck it when you get around to it. When are you going to mount that Yoshi can? I've got one in the mail to go on my Super Blackbird, and I'd really love to see what it can look like in the hands of a good modeler, so I'll have something to shoot for. Great work so far, man, the paint on the fairings is stellar.

I'm with Willimo on the tyre issue :)
Looks great :bigthumb:

I meant to ask you before. Is the frame kit chrome or did you re-paint it with metallizer?
Also what paint did you use on the body?

Keep at it!

This is one lovely bike. I've got one to and I'm planning to do it as the Suzuka 8-hours race version. I'll check your thread for inspiration, and may I say you're off to a great start. Such a lovely shine on those cowlings!!! Beautiful. Great idea to join the cowling parts together, that's one idea I'll certainly steal from you.
best regards
Joel

The frame comes in chrome it's not the right colour according to the picture on the box but I like that finish. And the paint is tamiya's Bright Red.

And thanks for all the comments so far.

Thanks! I also like the look of that chrome and was wondering if I will have to repaint or not. Sorry I was just too lazy to dig my one out and look inside the box :frown: :grinno:
