I would start with exhaust if you have not already done so, I have a airaid spacer, does run better, didn't notice any mileage difference. Next will put on and airaid intake kit, everything that I have read the intakes help. Had a friend with both spacer and intake kit said that both together made the truck run lots better. Hope this helps.

I have a 1991 1500 4x4 5.7TBI 5 speed shorted. I have been working to increase MPG and Performance. I added a 2-1/2" single exhaust cat-back, added headers, TBI spacer and K&N comp. filter. It is the smoothest running truck I have ever owned. It has 118,000 miles on it and runs like I just drove it off the showroom floor. I am running 32" tires on it and I am getting 16.7 mpg. I am more than happy with the increased performance but I was shooting for at least 18 MPG. Just today I found a website for performance chips that I had never heard of before and it seems with all the checking I have done on them they did it right. I am going to install their chip which on average now but I am not expecting it..... adds 50hp and 50ft lbs of torque with 3-6 added MPG. We will see. At 69.99 guar. I could not go wrong. They are SLR Motorsports and I liked what I saw as I believe ANY chip used should never require any modification of existing wiring.
