How big of a job to change a driveaxle? Don't have alot of special tools.

It can be a challange but it is not hard if you take your time. You need a torque wrench capable of at least 200 foot pounds. You will also need an axle nut socket to remove the socket from the axle to allow you to remove it from the hub. You will also need jack stands and a lot of patience. Other than that no special tools are required. One thing to remember is to use a new axle nut.

Well just came back from the shop. Had a mech look at it and he said it is the hub. How hard is that to change?

If it is the front hub you will need the same tools as you need to change the axle shaft. A lot simpler though since you don't have to remove the shaft. Just remove the axle nut and the four bolts that hold the hub in place. You may need a puller to get the hub off but they will usually come off with a little persuasion. Good Luck!
