Are Carter fuel pumps any good? Or should I stick with a GM fuel pump?

You will pay more for a factory pump, but I think that they are better. Either way you go the one thing that you have to remember is to clean the tank very well, if you put the new pump in with junk still in the tank you will just wipe out the new pump. I have also been told by an aftermarket pump mfg. to replace the fuel cap as well. Hope this helps. P.S. I like airtex better than carter.

holley and Mallory make good electric fuel pumps. Edelbrock has a nice mechanical one, it just depends what your putting it on and what kind of horsepower your making. If its just a grocery getter i would go to a pick and pull place or something and get yourself a fuel pump because the dealer will rip you through the nose.
