I have a 2002 S-10 Extreme and here's the Prob. It doesn't matter what position the AC/Heater Position Knob (NOT the Temp contol) is in the air always blows out of each option (ie face, feet, defrost) I called the dealership, and they said is was a vacuum hose off the backside of the controls inside the dash. The truck has an aftermarket CD player and they suspect that when the CD player was installed the hose was removed (accidentally of course). So....does anyone have any suggestions on this. I took the CD player and dash apart and found no vacuum "hose" back in the dash....just a bunch of wires. HELP!!!!! I really don't like to spend the $$ at the dealership if I can help it. Thanks.:banghead:

get the gm manual or maybe try the haynes or chilton and try to figure the hose from their diagrams. gm is right that is is a vacuum hose problem.

I hope it's not the "dreaded oil" makeing it's way in your switch problem.I have heard many stories about this problem.

I just fixed my wife's today. Open the glove box all the way. Push the stop up and it will open all the way to the floor and dump everything into the floorboard. There are 2 vacume moduels behind the glove box. An orange plastic tube and another. The orange one was just off on wife's Blazer, and causing hell with the vacume system that controlled the AC/heater.
