My SRS light came on and it wont go away... None of my airbags are or have been deployed...
is it normal for the SRS light to stay on while driving?
I own a 1996 mitsubish eclipse (SPYDER GS)

The srs on my eclipse was always on too. I think I read somewhere though that if it's on your airbag system isn't going to work.

I think there are two solutions to this problem, 1. Remove the bulb from the srs light. 2. Place a small piece of electrical take over the light, this method is less preffered and is often called the "Homer Method".

Airbags aren't the kind of thing I'll let stay in non-working condition.

Correct, but there is a solution besides removing the light! Install a rollcage and throw in a couple 4 point harnesses and call it a day!:naughty:

I usually get the srs fixed quick. my fear is that it might just decide to deploy one day for no reason. I can't imagine that would be a good situation to be in. So anything loaded and in front of me I usually would want to make sure it worked.
