hey,
i am working on a 93 cavalier 2.2
the car has had the coil packand module changed and fuel filter.
it will crank and run good for about 1 to 2 min and just die like you cut the ignition switch off. i checked it has fuel pressure when it dies. could it be that the crank sensor is bad? i know that on some sebrings they had the same problem but was the crank sensor. i dont know where the sensor is on this car. any help is greatly apreciated.

There is 3 things you need to test when it dies or will not start.
First is good hot blue spark to all splark plugs.
If you have that get a fuel pressure gauge and make sure the fuel pressure is up to specs.
Then if that is ok check for injector pulse.
And if that is all OK move on and check compression and fuel quality.
Post back what you find.

Also what is the hole deal on changing steering column?
Before or after the problem and why the change?
Any after market remote start or security sysems on it?

after the problem begin we changed the colum because her blinker switch and headlight switch was broke, plus the key switch was real stiff.
the car runs good, but when it dies it is just like turning the key off.
no spitting, spudering or skipping just shuts off like you turned the key off.
they swear that they changed the coil and module, but it looks old. and when it shuts off it cranks right back up no problem. it had a aftermarket
security key, looks like a card, i removed the whole thing and put the factory wiring back original but nothing different.
also how do you check the fuel pressure when there is no shrader valve present?
thanks

You will need a adapter/fittings to connect into the fuel pressure line at frame to engine or at the fuel filter. Also if you have not check that fuel filter.
Look for 41/47 lbs of fuel pressure.

question the people finally told the truth, they replaced the module, but not the coil pack. would the coil pack be the cause?

You can not out guess it or throw parts at it. You need to check it out.
When it dies you need to check for them 3 things.
Fire fuel and injector pulse.
Post back results.
