Hey guys, there is a man in UK by the name of Jim Gill who is starting an interesting venture - a free import car magazine. He plans on making it top quality and unique to catch your interest. I am attaching to this message couple of his letters with information about this upcoming magazine.

Thanks for your interest.

The magazine isn't a commercial venture of any sort, just a free magazine funded by myself and maybe a little help from Ad revenue. Strictly loss making for me but I love cars and hope there are plenty of like-minded people who would like an interesting and FREE read.

Further details are enclosed in the word document. I hope you agree this will be an exciting venture and look forward to your/your friends input.

If you like what you see then feel free to pass on the information to anyone you think will be interested. Those that are members of Japanese Car Clubs and Forums, you have my permission and request to post any information about this magazine that you wish. The more readers the better.

I would like to add here that the information such as email and postal addresses will be kept totally private and that's a promise. No junk mail/email will come from me or anyone I know. I shall be the only point of contact for mailing/emailing.

Again, please pass on the details to anyone that would be interested to make this happen sooner rather than later.

THIS IS NOT A SCAM. You will find my home address in the word doc as assurance.

People in countries other than England, I am looking into the postage costs to send to the different countries (USA, NZ, Australia etc.) I will let you all know as soon as I find out.

I am still waiting for more letters and pictures of cars to feature as this will primarily be a readers cars magazine so let me know what you drive! Nothing is out of the question. Anything from a Suzuki Swift to a Honda NSX is gratefully featured if people want to see it! Look forward to hearing from you all soon. Next email will, hopefully, have a preview of the cover page for you! Just some debate on the name of the magazine so if people have suggestions then again, let me know!

Have fun and drive safely (what?!)

Jim Gill

Below is the WORD letter

Hello all,
First of all I would like to thank you all for showing interest in what I hope will be an exciting, different and rewarding magazine.

If anyone has a problem with group emailing then please contact me on this email: jimgill@ntlworld.com
Otherwise all updates will be sent as a group.

If you have any friends that may be interested in this magazine please pass on the above address and they can register their interest and receive all updates. It is important that they register as we will need to know the numbers for the print run.

There is no catch and no small print. The magazine will be totally free of charge. All that we ask is that, when we are ready for issue 1 to be sent out, you send us a stamped self addressed A4 envelope if you are not coming to the Jap Auto Extravaganza. I will let you know how much the postage is and when to send. A free magazine and paying for postage and packaging ourselves would result in bankruptcy most probably. I hope you understand. Alternatively, if you aren’t too far, I can deliver or arrange a pick-up point.

Although it sounds funny, an alternative subscription is available for 6 issues at a time.
Subscription? You ask. Well it will only be for the cost of the stamps and envelopes so you don’t have to send them each time you want an issue sending. Once I know how much the magazine weighs I will let you all know the postage price details. This makes it cheaper for you and more convenient for us to assess print batches.

I would like to stress that this will not be a ‘newsletter’ but a quality, colour magazine with features, readers letters, competitions, organised meets, for sale/wanted ads and faq’s. There will also be adverts from reputable and respected companies but hey, it’s free right?

I am sure that once you all have received issue 1 your doubts and questions will have been answered.

Looking to the future, there will be a website (under construction as we speak) and we are inquiring for discounts for accessories from various outlets for our readers.

Your addresses will not be passed on to any mailing lists etc as I know privacy is priceless.

The Magazine

The primary aim of the magazine is to give information and features on all Japanese performance cars such as the Skyline, Supra, Evo and Imprezza not inclusively.. There will be features on reader’s cars, tuners, styling, ice, mods. Basically everything you would expect to find in a retail magazine for £3.50 except ours will be FREE!

I urge you all to ask friends and colleagues to take a look as it really is a no risk read. We are looking at an initial run of 3000 copies in order to go to press. We are just awaiting advertisers to submit their ads and, more importantly, potential readers to send us letters, pictures and questions as to what they would like to see in the magazine as well as readers cars to feature. Remember, this is your magazine so tell us what you would like to see and we will do our best to make it exactly how you would like.

Letters, pictures and any other submissions can be sent via snail mail to :

Magazine Submissions
Gill Design Limited
3 Peacock Grove
Littleover
Derby

Or email to : jimgill@ntlworld.com

SEND NO MONEY OR STAMPS OR ENVELOPES AT THIS TIME.

If you are going to send pictures of your cars etc. via email please make sure they are optimised for size. If they are selected to be featured in the magazine we will contact you and arrange a photo shoot with no expense to yourselves.

Once again, I would like to thank you for your interest and hope you are looking forward to our fresh and original magazine.

Regards,

Jim Gill
