:banghead: we are having troubles with our seatbelt in our 2000 taurus the problem lies in the retraction/recoil it is jammed and will not allow the seatbelt to pull out therefore we are unable to do it up. has anyone had this problem? and can you fix it yourself?

Mine has done it on occacsion
Pull the belt out as far as it will go and then with a clean screwdriver
push the belt back in down by the drum.
When I have done that it finally took and started retracting it.

You might want to check and see if theres a recall on them also. I've had recalls on the seatbelts on two on mine.

Yep, I've had to replace the front passenger seat belt assembly TWICE... but they said there was no recall on them at Ford.
