Modelers hose fitting sets - What Happened?

I heard from my local hobby shop that Modelers will no longer produced this set. Can anyone else confirm this and why. I know that there are others
(Detail Masters) but they are so $$, even if they are metal. Is Modelers simply dropping this set or are they even still around? If still around why would they do this to us?

Modelers is around, they stopped producing the set a while ago, there have even been previous threads about them stopping making it.
