Leaky transmission

Has anyone had problems with their transmission leaking? I have a 02 rodeo, and the transmission is leaking on the passanger side out of some kind of plug, not sure what it is for. I can't find anything, in the manuals I've looked through as to what this is... everything just says to take it to the dealer?...

here is your problem:

if you are the first owner you are covered under the 10yr 120k warranty.

if you are the second owner you are covered for 5yr 60k

get it fixed soon. These trannies don't like low fluid.

I would not drive it until you can get the accumulator piston cover fixed!! Especially if it's been leaking for awhile and you are not topping up the ATF! The 4L30E will cook in no time if it's driven low on ATF. Have the dealer do a trans service so you have some service on record. This way if it craters before 10/120, it will be covered by warranty- provided we have dealers to service them!!:uhoh:

I have not done one, but from what I hear, the piston cover can be pushed in with a special service tool or pry bars. Once it's pushed in, you release the snap ring that keeps it from flying out, let it pop out & then you replace the whole cover. It comes in a kit. As far as the dealer thing goes, there's basically no more isuzu product line to sell :shakehead . I dunno how the whole dealer/warranty thing will play out, but parts will be available to us for years to come. Not to say they will be cheap and easy to find:banghead: .

This is my true hang-up in regards to ever buying the 2004 Rodeo. I so love the sounds and power of it, but I don't want to be out on a limb looking for replacement parts.:disappoin

I have put a few in.Most of the ones I have put in the customer has an extended warranty. They can be a little tricky getting them to seat.I would call some dealers and honda dealers and ask for some quotes.I don,t think it would be over a couple of hours labor.Carl
