99 Corolla power steering problems?

Is anyone else having frequent problems with the power steering pump and associated parts on a '99 Corolla? I originally had the PS pump replaced since it was making a wierd noise (jsut out of the warranty period, of course.) Last summer, the PS pulley went bad, slipped out, and ate my serpentine belt. Local shop replaced the pulley and belt at a reasonable rate. A few months later the PS bearing began making a loud squeal at around 2800rpm. A shot of Silicone lubricant to the bearing cleared that up - until winter hit! Water, road salt, or something will get into the bearing and make it squeal again but now it goes away after 5 - 10 miles of driving. It doesn't happen very often but is embarrassing when it does! Any suggestions?

The belt is fine, the problem is with the power steering bearing. A shot of lubricant clears it up for 3-6 months.

the problem is probably all the dirt/dust/salt/etc. getting in there...

That was what I was guessing. Any idea what type of lubricant will be best and last longest.
