Hi, used tamiya 40 mm and 6mm tape on the Tamiya RX7 R1 kit (so old it doesn't have window masks =\)
So, I'm wondering how I can safely remove some of the residue thats left by the 40mm on the windows and the body.
Thanks.

Goo-gone, goof off are both very safe for plastics. They always get the sticky stuff from stickers and tape, off easily. Just try not to get it on the paint.

I would be wary about using either Goo Gone or Easy Off on paint, they are both known to strip paint!! (Bad first post above ;) )

Use some 70% alcohol on a Q-Tip (cotton bud) and very gently remove the residue, if it is tape residue.

I would definitely NOT use Easy Off of paint. This is used to strip the paint (and work quite nicely)

Use a small amount of polish on a cloth

Make sure it is actually residue, and not the tape eating the paint. I've found that both Tamiya acrylic and enamel paints can show some deterioration after use of Tamiya masking tape. I emailed Tamiya directly about it some months ago, and they essentially said "yes, the paints aren't all that hard when they set, so you get that...".

Now I basically decant Tamiya lacquer for everything where possible, and airbrush it on - dries in no time, dries exceptionally hard, and I've never had ANY problems with masking tape at all.

I'm sure you'll get a lot of different methods which have worked for different people. It may take some experimenting, but eventually you'll get it all sorted. Oh, and I agree with the comments regarding the 70% alcohol or polish... if it's residue.
