Have '98 GT. Has a metallic popping noise in the front right tire area when turning steering wheel to the right. Have replaced CV joints on both sides as well as wheel bearings. I am at a loss of what else to look at. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to AF!!
It is possible that you have something in the suspension binding. I would start with checking the struts. Sometimes the strut mounts go bad and it will make a popping noise when turning. Also check the mounting points for the sway bar. They will break or wear out and cause noise. Otherwise you may need to check the ball joints.

I agree with Lynn. Also, check the lower control arm bushings for wear and the inner and outer tie rods.

Yep, I confer with Bob and Lynn, strut mounts and lower control arm bushings are my first guesses, with the ball joint and stabilizer links/bushings last.

Thanks for the replies. I forgot to mention that I have looked at ball joints and other front end components. It has something to do with rotation of the wheel. It sounds alot like rocks in a wheel cover only I have chrome wheels. It starts doing it whenever right hand pressure is applied to steering wheel, even going down the road at any speed.

Check to make sure that nothing is loose on the brakes and that no rocks have gotten behind the rotor. Can cause this type of noise if all the other components are OK!
