Hello all, i just recently purchased a 92 lincoln continental that have a few issues im kinda stuck with and hoping i could get a few points in the right direction on correcting.

1. the digital dash does not work on the far right side, i believe its called the message center, it doesnt lite up or anything, now the other 2 work fine, speedo and fuel ,and oil pressure and all, is this a fuse to control the one side or what?

2. possibly related to the 1st but not sure, i keep getting a beeping sound every so often and i hit the reset button and sometimes helps and sometimes not, but im guessing there is a issue showing up in the message center but since i cant see i dont know, anyway is there a way to turn the beep off?

3. the guy i bought the car from said he had quite a bit of work to the front end done like a year ago but has put at most 500 miles on it since but the steering kinda jumps a little to the left and right when steering, he said the "rack" was replaced and something about the dealer told him when that gets done the first however many miles you will get that because there is air in the system and it has to work itself out, not sure if that made sense but thats what he told me , does this sound true ? it almost feels like a power steering issue because the car has a slight wine to it but the power steering pump is new (confirmed by receipt and looks it) so not sure, its not a big deal but sometimes when your goin around a corner the wheel wants to keep jumping away from the direction your turning, almost like in timed intervals, very weird.

4. this is more of a , " what does this do" but ive noticed a few sensors on the car or eyes, what are the 2 eyes on the dash, one on the drivers side and one on the pass side? and also there is one on the rear view mirror, it almost looks like a little black box with a camera lens on it.

thanks for any help you may be able to provide!

Hello all, i just recently purchased a 92 lincoln continental that have a few issues im kinda stuck with and hoping i could get a few points in the right direction on correcting.

1. the digital dash does not work on the far right side, i believe its called the message center, it doesnt lite up or anything, now the other 2 work fine, speedo and fuel ,and oil pressure and all, is this a fuse to control the one side or what?OK, It's is most likely a burned out bulb in the cluster is self.( I can only guess here, because I can't see your car from here) You get to them by removing the instrument cluster, and they are on the back side

2. possibly related to the 1st but not sure, i keep getting a beeping sound every so often and i hit the reset button and sometimes helps and sometimes not, but im guessing there is a issue showing up in the message center but since i cant see i dont know, anyway is there a way to turn the beep off? Guessing here again, but yes..It sounds as if there is something that would be displayed on the msg center. Most likely something dealing with the air ride system ( mine is converted to springs/struts, and beeps once per time I drive it, usually about 10 mins into the ride, sometimes sooner) I know of no way, short of removing the little module that makes the beeping, to silence it (or fix the problem)

3. the guy i bought the car from said he had quite a bit of work to the front end done like a year ago but has put at most 500 miles on it since but the steering kinda jumps a little to the left and right when steering, he said the "rack" was replaced and something about the dealer told him when that gets done the first however many miles you will get that because there is air in the system and it has to work itself out, not sure if that made sense but thats what he told me , does this sound true ? it almost feels like a power steering issue because the car has a slight wine to it but the power steering pump is new (confirmed by receipt and looks it) so not sure, its not a big deal but sometimes when your goin around a corner the wheel wants to keep jumping away from the direction your turning, almost like in timed intervals, very weird. That DOES sound wierd. I cant really tell from here what the problem is, but it sounds like there might be air in the system, but I wouldnt think so after 500mi

4. this is more of a , " what does this do" but ive noticed a few sensors on the car or eyes, what are the 2 eyes on the dash, one on the drivers side and one on the pass side? and also there is one on the rear view mirror, it almost looks like a little black box with a camera lens on it.The eyes on the dash are for the "Auto On/Off Headlights (when it gets dark, if you have it turned on, the lights automatically turn on) And the one on the back of the mirror is for the automatic Hibeam dimmer ( When the Hibeams are on, an approaching cars headlights will cause your hibeams to dim to low beam, if you have it adjusted properly

thanks for any help you may be able to provide!

Hope all that helps you

As far as turning off the anoying beeping sound...it is a relay, located in your fuse box. It's a silver piece. I had an '89 few years back and I recall similiar problems back then. If you decide to remove this relay and a few other things. I believe it also disables your controls to your electric seats and something else! So if you're one not to constantly move your seats and you're the only driver, I guess it's fine. Good luck.
