New buy

So tomorrow I'm going to go look at a 91 GSX that is in my area. Now the only thing the guy said was the car smogged fine two weeks ago but last week he was driving on the freeway and it made a "loud noise" and then stopped working. I didn't ask him to much specifics just because he wasn't real car knowledgeable. But he didn't mention anything about oil spilling everywhere. Just that it stopped working. So anyone have any ideas what it might be? I mean he is only selling the car for about 500 bucks anyway which would be about the cost of the shell itself so I think it's a good deal.

What could this have been? My first thought was throwing a rod. But the car is completely stock? Any ideas on what it might be or what I should look for when I go tomorrow to look at it? I know it's kinda vague problem. But I want some good advice before I go look.

for 500$ i'd pick it up in a heart beat... how many miles? color? stick shift?

It's a 5 speed. No idea about the other two questions. And I actually don't care because I'm going to do a rebuild on it anyway.

I'd buy it. Who knows it could be such a simple problem, like a boost leak or something. I bought a 90 gst with a bad ecu for $250 a while ago, the lady i bought it from knew nothing about cars.

Yeah dude I would do it. Could be as little as an IC pipe popping off. I'd go get a compression tester and do one on it, check the oil, and check spark plugs. That might help lift some of the fog as to why its not working.

Definately get it. For $500, you would be getting a 6 bolt in a gsx! Even if you have to repair something, it is still worth it IMO.
