Idle Problem 96 F250 5.8

Low idle at startup will stall if i do not give it gas. After running for awhile it will idle low. I replaced plugs cap roter and wires also fuel and air filter. I also replaced the battery. the truck has 93k miles. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Is there a check engine light on? A couple of problems that come mind that will cause the problem; timing, Idle Air Control Valve, Manifold Absolute Presure Sensor, Throttle Position Sensor. You can have a shop check what all sensors are doing with a scan tool.

No check engine light... Do you know if replacing the Idle Air Control motor is a big deal? i priced it out at $40 and you are the 3rd person to tell me that so i really dont mind swaping it out if its not that big of a deal. I will go and get the other sensors checked next time i go in to town.

The idle air crtl valve is on the intake plenum just behind the throttle body on the ford v8 motors, involves one plug and two bolts. Once you get the part you will exactly what part it is. Hope this fixes your problem.
