mk4 indicators won't blink

Hiya

When turning on my indicators (either left or right) then sometimes they blink as normal, other times they stay on. It's getting worse over the last few days. When the problem happens then they don't blink on the display nor outside the car... they stay on, solid orange.

I've checked all the fuses and none have burnt out and checked the (rubbish) fuse plan supplied with the car and all the fuses seem to be in the right place.

Sometimes pulling over and turning off the engine will sort the problem. More recently it doesn't help.

Any ideas?

I don't want to fiddle too much with the electrics, but would like to know what's wrong to get it fixed properly. If it's something simple then I'd have a bash at fixing it.

Cheers all.

sK

Sorry - I'm stupid when it comes to technical stuff - how do I go about that?

its the switch that looks like the red triangle by your cup holders. Just take a small screwdriver and pry the side to pop it out, after it pops out just pull the switch out and unplug it and plug the new one in. make sure the harness doesnt pull back in after you disconnect it, or you'll have a fun time removing the other switches and even the cupholder to get the harness back out
