what is this?

hey, i just bought a 92 rs 305 tbi camaro, i know this is a firebird thread but i thought you guys could help. Well here is the problem, when i get on it all the way, when i hit the gas to the floor when i am moving, it sounds and feels like the tranny or motot jumps once or twice the goes, i think it might be a broken mount, but it only does it when i smash it. When i try to torque them it does it also. any one have any ideas?

I think you're on the right track...check your tranny mount. Its easy to change and cheap. Motor mounts you may need another person to help you. What I do is get a guy to put the car in gear and hold the brake pedal down and give it some gas. If the motor lifts on one side or the other, it is that motor mount. I would check definitely check the mounts though.

I would echo what CreepingDeath posted. My Firebird has gone through a few tranny mounts and the symptoms sound about the same as yours. I've put motor mounts in also, good idea to check them.
