Starting issues

My 96 sentra 1.6l sedan was all fine and dandy cause I droveit back
and forth from Central NY to the canadien border every weekend.
Eveantually now that I am at 140k miles, the timing chain started to
rattle a bit, so I ignored it for a while and eveantually it got
pretty bad and would rattle a lot, and lag on hills. I pulled in my
driveway after coming back to my house and it was all fine, I just
shut the engine off and them me and my gf wanted to go out to a club
for the night and I went out to start it to get it warm for her and
there was an awful whine followed by a creeeak, and then a squeal,
and a few other noises. The first thing that I thought was oh dam,
the chain just broke, so i immediately shut it off and rolled it
into my garage. Upon taking it apart, i noticed that the egr temp
sensor was messed up a little so I got a new one of those. The wierd
noises that I heard was the water pump seizing up which made me
strangely happy. I took the whole thing apart and replaced the upper
and lower chains, the tensioners(2) the guides, sprockets-all except
the vtc one, all related gaskets and seals, a thermostat, the belts,
a water pump, and that egr temp sensor. I re-assembled all of it and
hoping that it was going to fire right up, i cranked it over to just
find the sound of an engine cranking and no fire. Then I remembered
that I pulled the fuel-pump fuse so, I put it back in (btw, tank is
at 3/4) it then just cranked and Every once in a while I got a fire
or 2 it seems like it is on cyls 2+3 which I think are companion
cyls. I can smell gas and If I pull out the plugs, there is fuel on
them, I checked spark and it will jump a 3/4" gap at atmospheric
temp. Then I said, timing's off. I then pulled the whole thing back
apart just to find that the timing is exactly where it belongs. It
has had an egr code for flow so I figured that maybee its stuck
open. I took the valve off and cleaned it good and after re-
assembly, it still does not run. I even tried to unplug some sensors
to see if it would run and it still won't. I even tried the old temp
sensor, still nothing. All I get is the smell of fuel. I have no
idea what the hell is wrong with it. My question, Has anyone ever
had this problem and what was the reason for it? I'm down to
thinking that from sitting there the injectors got gummed up, but
I'm not sure and don't have the thing to do a pressure drop test on
them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you soo much in
advance.

Did you put the engine on TDC at compress stroke and line up the rotor with no.1 cap tower

my advice: take care of your car when it starts having problems, you could've avoided this easily me thinks.
