intermittent headlights 97 cavalier

hello and thx in advance for the help, my wife's 97 chevy cavalire z24 is having a problem with intermittent headlights. sometimes they wont come on from the start and will come on after 3 or 4 tries, or sometimes she will be driving and they just shut off. i am not an electrical oriented person,,, my first guess would be a relay. i checked the 2 fuses and there fine. i looked in the relay panel and didnt see any for headlamps... any advice would be appreciated thank you

Check to make sure that they are both the same headlight bulbs. I had the same problem,( lights just turn off than come on). I found that 1 of the bulbs was diffrent than the other( Thats one of the reasons they say replace in pairs) It had a diffrent watt rate and it made my headlights do some strange things. Also if this is the case while you are driving with your lights on is your relay in the fuse box super hot? If so replace your headlight bulbs.
