Hey,

Has anyone tried a Backscape Decal on their XJ?

I was looking at one that has the Eagle's Head with the American Flag Superimposed but transparent over it.

Thx, Phil:smile:

The only problem with the backscape decals is that they are mainly made for trucks which have a shorter window height than an suv. If you measure the height and width of your rear window and find a decal that's the same height then you could always just trim off the edges. I used to have one on a 99 s10 i had and I didn't really like it that much prefer just normal window tint to a decal as when you're looking out from the inside it's like looking through one of those child sun blockers that you stick to the inside of the window. Like right now I have mirror tint all the way around my 92 cherokee and I am going to pull it off and put 2.5% limo tint all the way around including a 10 in. strip across the windshield.

Hey Dave,

The one I was looking at is larger in height and width than the rear window so it should be adequate.

I have limo tint now all around but the rear window is peeling so I thought I'd try something different. I'm sure it will be easier to put on than the tint. I recall the rear window was a royal pain to do since it was so damn big. lol

Was it easy to apply when you did your S10?

Thx, Phil:smile:

When I put the decal on the rear window of my s10 it was soooo much easier to do than putting on the tint but then if you want a professional look to your tint it's always a pain in the a$$ but in the end is ultimately worth it when you see people driving down the road with tint that's extremely bubbled up or faded to that light purple color. But yah if the decal is bigger than the window then it won't be a problem just remember that when you trim it up on the outside to cut it about a 1/2 inch bigger so you have a little room to work with. When you get it done post a pic and let us see the final result if you can.

Hey Dave,

That reminds me, I once saw a guy with probably the WORST Tint Job ever!

It was bubbled, peeling, faded but most and worst of all he put the Tint on the OUTSIDE of the Windows! LOL

Thx, Phil:lol:
