How to remove the crankshaft pulley. Does the pully bolt have reverse threads? I have not tried to take it off yet but will tomorrow. I also have the motor on a stand and how can i keep it from turning?

the pulley bolt has normal threads.

with the motor on the stand, turn motor upside down.

remove oil pan

use a handle of a hammer or simmilar piece of hardwood and put it between one of the crank's counterweights and the side of the block to prevent it from turning.

remove crank pulley bolt.

remove crank pulley.

make sure you do not lose the crank's woodruff key (i don't have any to spare, so don't lose it!)

label everything.
engine internals must go back together exactly how they were when you took it apart or you WILL have problems.

talk to you later.

yea, sometimes they need some encouragement to come off.

you could probably rent a universal puller from a local auto parts store or just buy one, they aren't too expensive.

got the pulley off today. used a persuader aka "hammer" lol i had to stop to watch the Carolina game. So tomorrow ill finish taking the crank out, clean everything and possibly use a cylinder hone to clean the cylinder walls. I have never used one so any hinters would be helpful if you have used one before? Prolly the reassembly process will start tuesday or wenesday!!!! hell yea!!!!

are you talking about one of those powerdrill attached hones?

i've only used one of those once.

take it slow.
use lots of oil, don't be afraid to make a big mess. (because you will)
make sure you are using a variable speed drill. (slow speed)
plunge in and out of the cylinder slowly, trying to match the speed of the drill.
you want to get a 45 degree crosshatch.

sorry it took me so long to get back to you, been busy with work. i've mostly been posting in the morning before i leave for work, haven't been on AF much. O well, its off to work i go.

pre-warning -
i am as drunk as i have ever been, atleast in aas many yeaRS as as i can remember. i wii;l probably take back at least half of the following words that i manage to type.

if i get to work on time it will be a miracale. damn, that stripper was hot.

your head looks good, the carbonization looks to be isolated to the combustion chamber. it looks like your headgasket was holding a good seal. the rust is all where it should be. your headgasket was doing its job.

i went to a combination batchular party/21st birthday party, damn that stripper was hot, i licked whipped cream from her ass crack. :licka:

the bearing caps are only hold on by the two bolts, if they are fighti9ng you, it is the oil's surface tension, i have never needed a special tool to remove the crank bearing caps, clean your hands and get a good grip on the cap and pull, it shuld pop off. i don't know why it is giving you problems. once the two bolts are off, it should comeright off.

her "name" was monica.

if the two bolts are removed and the bearing cap still won't come off, try spraying it with some brakeclean, that should cut theoil and make the cap fall right off. remembr to thoroughly re-oil the bearing/journal before re-assembly.

i am as oldas you, (check profiles, same birth year) but this was my first stripper, she was sooiooooo hot, my hands still smell like her. it was a private party, she was buck-ass naked the whole 3 hours, rubbin'; on all of us. nice ass, i can't even begin to describe it.

sooooooooo hot.:evillol:

if i have time in the morning before i get to work, i will come back and revise these comments.

if i don't remember to say so when i am sober., thanks for the pics, keep 'em updated. even dirty datsun engine interanals look like mechanichal porn to me.

i am going to bed, TTYL. (talk to ya later)

BTW-, nice job on gettin all four mounts on the stand to line up, i usually just settle for three.
