Hi all, I've been poking around here for awhile and finally picked up my own JGC, 2000 4.0 Laredo.
I have a question about something I haven't seen in the owner's manual:
What is the capacity of the transfer case and transmission? I'm planning on switching out the fluids but nowhere in the manual does it list the capacities.
I know you fill the case until the fluid starts coming back out the fill hole, and the trans until the stick indicates full.

Hey Fred
if it is the 42re tranny, you'll need 10 quarts total and 4 for a change.
and the 242 T/C takes 3 pints
Try this link. You can pick most any vehicle made recently and find the capacities for all lubes and coolants. I've not found any of the listed capacities wrong yet.

Sweet! Thanks JD, just what I was after. I'd been to the Amsoil site before, forgot that they list capacities.....funny, Amsoil is what I'm planning to put in. Thanks again.

Thanks Dale; that's good info. Mine was originally filled with ATF+3, so I'll be going with synthetic ATF....
