ok, i sued my piece of shit landlord and i won. Now, he is appealing. There were 3 roommates in the beginning and only one still lives in the area (were are all basically far from the courthouse he has filed at). Can I change the venue now that i am going to be the defendant? Also, can I sue him for expenses that i will incur from this appeal?
i live in california
thanks

he is appealing? how does that make you the defendant? Unless he is counter-suing which is a different case altogether, I think you're still the plaintiff...

i guess i am still the plaintiff. I have no idea how the appeals court works. that's why i'm asking about it!
basically, my apartment flooded 4 different times and he charged me for the damage done by the rain to the apartment. I took pictures each time it flooded so I took him to court on the basis that he was witholding my security deposit. Obviously, i won. now he is just trying to drag this shit out.
