First place to concern your self is a loose gas cap or one that won't seal properly, after that it gets real complicated.

Check seal on gas cap. Coat with vaseline. Rub inside of filler on tank where the rubber seal mates. If rough with brown coating, rub with oil or vaseline to smooth for good seal.

The car may not check for correct vacuum seal on tank until the car is luke warm, and then is restarted. I think it was something like coolant warmer than 120 and cooler than 170 when I dug through the service manuals for my 98 LeSabre. When you restart like that it may be 30 seconds and then the light will go off if it is now a sealed system that holds vacuum lone enough to pass the test.
