Appologies for starting another thread so soon, but here it is.
I've had this link for about 10 months now from this online "dealer."
It has for sale, a F1 LM that was rebuilt by McLaren. They say the car originally finished 5th at the '95 LeMans, and was turned into a LM model.

Anyone have anymore history on this car as it's been "for sale" for almost a year now.

OOooooohhhhhhh, i hate to be the one to tell you, but....
Its a GTR (#7 i think?....if not i am sure the knowledge on here will put me straight), not an LM, and it has been for sale for a fair while now
Keep looking though, newbies with new info are as welcome on here as the oldies, just try the search function first though or, like me, do a bit of trawling through the forums, there a resome great photos and info lurking around

I know it's a GTR. I read that from the description. It was GTR rebuilt by McLaren to look like a LM.

There are no less than 5 GTRs that have now been refitted/resprayed to appear similar to the LMs. Of course this doesn't make them an LM - nothing would really - but it does serve to confuse many people into thinking the car is something that it is not. It's a shame really in my opinion, but money talks and I don't have enough for my voice to be heard in these situations. ;)
As for the history of this car it has literally been for sale somewhere for the past 3 years it seems. I wonder why no one seems to want it? The conversion work was performed when the car was owned by Larry Kinch, but I think it has had a few unnamed owners since then.

It definitely has a very high asking price right now baesd on the Mobile.de ad and did years ago (it was lower a few years ago in USD, but still high at the time).
Also, what is the draw of repainted GTRs that look close to LMs? I would much rather prefer one of the actual race liveries to remain on the car; shows its history (Jacadi for example).
Just my 2 cents.

They've done this to 4 other race cars!?
Bah, I know it's not a LM. And I know of the rumors of the 2 "black" LM cars.
I would like to know the price of this car exactly, but it's obviously very high price if the site does not want to give it out. :eek7:

I contacted this seller sevral times and he says it is very difficult to see the car (why? he didnt say). The car is not there (where? he didnt say).
I doubt they really have it.
