'97 TC having sudden serious problems with entry. Keyless entry will open or lock-it does not even light up any more. Key to car will not unlock anything but the passenger door which sets off the alarm. New batteries in key fob opened locks for a few days but suddenly won't unlock car. We can't get in. :banghead:

1st, I noticed you're in some pretty cold climate. The locks may just be frozen. I'm not to sure what methods are acceptable or safe for thawing locks, but I can think of a few HOT methods to try :)

What style FOB do you have?

The peanut style is prone to go bad and as you describe, the battery dies in a few hours/days.

The square style has proven more reliable and you can get 'em all over eBay for around $10. Programming shoulld be simple if your system works correctly.

As for your keyless pad not illuminating, and whether this is associated with the other problems, there are two fuses to check but you must be in the car to do that.

Re: We Can't Get In :banghead:
You mentioned the passenger door opens and the alarm sounds --
If you start the car with the key, the alarm should shut off. Even from the passenger side :)
