How long of a life does a billstien shock have. I have 140K or so on my zr2, but i dont know if they need replaced. I've gotten so used to the ride i dont know if there shot or not. I've tried the ol bounce trick but the suspension on the ZR2 is too firm for that.

I've got a 2000 4x4 blazer that came with Bilsteins. The suspension is for high payload so it isn't a normal blazer suspension.
I just replaced them with 80k. Big difference in ride after the replacement.
I replaced the front with Bilsteins and the rear with Monroe Reflex for SUV's ($41.99/each from Oreilly's). For $4 more per shock I could have got the performance Reflex but I didn't want that stiff of a ride.
If I was to do it again I would have saved my money and replaced the fronts with Monroes as well.
Some may tell you to only go with Bilstein's but the Monroes for SUV's are fine.
Hope this helps.

I want to say a shocks average life is about 75K miles. They should be inspected for leaks and any type of breakage at least twice a year
