Ok....Here we go. I just got a 2000 si with a stock motor. It has an Apexi intake and cat back exhaust. (also a cold air intake). I love the short throw shifter and the clutch kit it has. My plan is to keep the car for quite some time as it is my daily driver. I come up with a few hundred bucks here and there every couple months or so to put into it. Now I know with this car I can't just go out and race anyone on the track and expect to beat them. My question is this; what are the first things I should think about putting into this car keeping in mind that I love going to the track, but I need this car to get to work everyday?? Thanx Oh yeah it has lowering springs and falken azenis tires (The tires are my favorite!!)

well my budget is about 300/month. i don't mind saving 300/month to combine my monthly savings so i can eventually do something that'll be more expensive. as far as power, i would love to beat a stock 5.0 in a quarter mile one day.....(or even one with a few mods..??..??..??)

save that $300 a month until you have enough for turbo than boost that b16

save up like $3000 and that'll be more than enough if you find some good deals....i'm going to be looking at just over $2500 on my GSR for a DIY turbo kit....and that includes tuning and a new clutch

280-300whp.....that'd beat a 5.0

Awesome!! now what i'm afraid of, is doing that and finding out the hard way that something in the engine couldn't take all the extra hp and brake. is there anything that i should consider if putting a turbo kit on? (as far as anything that will be left stock) i'm sure i can get loads of hp from this engine, but can it (and the rest of the car for that matter, i.e. axles) handle it??

My uncle has a civic SI... he has a jackson supercharger on there, alon with an AEM intake, full exhaust, Nitrous Express fogger system... he uses it as his daily driver... the only prob he's had with it is blowing valves when he was dyno'ing it and when he was at the drag strip... (he was on the NOS all the way)

a B16 will handle about 300-350whp w/o trouble but i would push it to 300whp at the most. The rest of the components can handle it. I have a GSR and its a little more stout than an Si, but they shouldn't be that much different.

If you could get another $1000 you could build the bottom end....new pistons and rods.....

If you did that, you could run around all day on 300+whp w/o worries!

i'm shooting to make just a litttle more power than that on my completely stock GSR.....just for bragging rights :p

You have cutouts or just no exhaust? I have to build my own off of the dp and i'm not using a cat......

so with that said, since i don't plan on using nos i should be all set with this as a daily driver...?...but you brought up another question.....the ever popular one........SC or TURBO....I've heard great and horrible things about both....particularly with the B16 it seems to me like an SC would be better because air ins't being forced in when the valves aren't opened up all the way....but then again i could be talking out of my butt!! :screwy:

300whp sounds awesome. should bottom end work be done before or after supercharger/turbo work?
