This was the deal of the century guys... The core measures 24x12x4 inches, with the endtanks its 31 inches wide with 3 inch inlet and outlet. Massive! It included 3 inch piping with it also, 11 feet of it! Everything is polished already and its amazing! I'm so excited! See that piece of piping in the picture? There are 6 of those with it. Normally it would cost like hundreds and hunreds of dollars for all this... I picked it all up for 160 bucks on freakin Ebay! :smokin: Sometimes I just wanna hump Ebay. lol Enjoy the pics!

hate to tell you this man, but that's the SSautochrome intercooler. Also 3 inch piping will actually hurt performance versus 2.5inch unless you're running MASSIVE turbos.

Good job though, 169 bucks is cheap, but good luck with the quality issues, hopefully you don't have any.

I know I can't wait... Now I'm just trying to find a huge turbo to go with it. I've been looking at 57 and 60 trims but I just don't wanna spend like 1200 dollars on a turbo. I also was looking at the Holset hx35/40 hybrid and that would be a nice turbo but once again its like 1200 dollars. I have a 16g here but I don't think its gonna push enough air for this big of an intercooler and all my 3" piping...

Anyone got a massive turbo for sale? lol

Yeah, I know... I'm thinking it should be ok though because my friend has their header and wastegate on his setup and it works fine. If theres any kind of leaks, I can always do some welding on it. For 160 bucks I won't complain. lol

I should be getting my 60trim soon if you would be interested. I'd be willing to set up some sort of trade for your 16g. also its externally gated so you would have to get a gate

oooooooo I like... :lol2: I was gonna run an external gate anyways, but yeah I'm definetly interested in setting up some type of trade. The 16g is ported out with a 38mm internal gate on it. I got it used and its still in really good condition, I just never got around to putting it on yet. Where are you getting the 60 trim from? What kinda shapes it in?

I'm getting it from a friend. I traded my apex'i egt gauge for it. Its in pretty good shape. Nothing wrong with it that I could see. Its a garrett .60, .43 or something like that. comes it the 02 housing and all that stuff. let me know what you think is fair

Holy FUCK thats a big ass FMIC! Awesome job man. SBR has pretty cheap turbos too, a SBR 60 trim is $700, a 60-1 is $800, and theres this PTE bb turbo on there for like $850 that I was going to buy. Thats awesome man.

Thats awesome, I think thats the one ted got for his car. It will fit fine you just need to eliminate the fiberglass bumper.

The opening is soo small, wouldn't it defeat the purpose of having such a huge intercooler?

Yeah it may look badass. But all I am saying is wouldn't it defeat the purpose of having a huge intercooler behind a bumper with such a small opening, unless you plan on hacking up the bumper. I don't know...I'm just wondering.

I'm planning on keeping the stock bumper. The styling I'm gonna have when its all done is gonna be so sexy. Just you guys wait till I get it all finished this summer... Oh and it does kinda not work as well being partially covered but It'll still serve the purpous.

Thor06

Yeah. If you wanted to keep it stock, the 97-99 eclipse has a bigger opening I think, but I like that bumper too. I would atleast sort of "port" the stock bumper a little.

Well heres what I thought about doing... I thought about mounting the intercooler and leaving enough of a gap between the intercooler and radiator to put a dual slimline fan in there. Then wire it up to run constantly when the car is started so that it will always be sucking cool air through the intercooler and blowing that cool air through the radiator too... Sound like a pretty good idea? I'm hoping it will maximize full use of the entire intercooler that way. Has anyone else done or tried this?

just because air isnt hiting the intercooler directly doesnt mean its not sucking air

Look at the high horsepower supras. They have a gigantic fmic with a tiny opening. Air still gets to it. Running fans doesn't seem like a good idea to me, it's just not enough air as compared to 70mph winds. If noone's done it before, it's probably for a good reason. Check out my sig though, if you cut out that slit on the 97eclipse bumper, it's a pretty big opening, my intercooler is also 12 inches tall.

Damn thats one fat mother fu%$er. I have been thinking though, say I get the smaller intercooler which is like 22x9x3. Wouldnt that block the radiator ? I looked around and searched and I coult find what intercooler size is best for what setup. If you want something over 300 ponies what are you suppost to look at?

But thats a good deal on that intercooler for $170.
Just thinking how are you gonna fit it behind that stock bumper though.

I'm gonna have to do a little bit of trimming to the backside of the bumper because I only have like 3 inches now. I'm hoping that its size doesn't cut down too much air to the radiator, thats why I considered the slimline fans.

I would say that 22x9x3 intercooler would be for setups up to 350hp. But my goal by the end of next season is 550+hp thats why I went with such a big intercooler. Theres no sense in buying a smaller one now and then upgrading to a bigger one in a few months. I'm gonna do it all right the first time.

a good 22x9x3 would easily support up to 600hp or higher.

That's why I think you MIGHT run into some problems later. Think of it this way, we have the same size intercooler, except yours is 4 inches, and mine is 3.5 inches thick. If you do the math, you have an extra 144 cubic inches of cooling, you should be ok as my evoiii has no problem with this ginormous intercooler. BUT, that's gonna be a bitch to fit behind the bumper, the back of my bumper is practically non-existant, and you have an extra half inch. Good luck.

Well thats sweet, I had no idea those smaller ones could handle that much power and still be efficient.

True, but I'll find a way to fit it in there. I'm gonna be running a much larger turbo anyways after I put a built motor in so I'm hoping it should be plenty big.
