Is it possible to do this to these cars or are the doors to heavy? And does anybody know where I can read a do it yourself or something? Any information on this?

ugh... well negative comemnts aside cuz someone else I'm sure will get to that... there are kits out there, but many people say the doors are too heavy and will put too much stress on the hinges. Or soemthing like that.

*disclaimer: I am by NO MEANS endorsing lambo doors on anything that's not a lambo.

I dont know about 3rd gen kits, but there are kits for 4th gen Camaros.. im not going to say any negative stuff except you should atleast wait till your car has everything new in it before doing that.

Oy! The doors are too heavy for the hinges. If you do it you'll need some serious hardware. Ugh. Tell me if im wrong but dont most third gens have problems with the hinges??? I know that my doors are at a very nice 88 degree angle right now, and make a gut wrenching pop noise when i close em too hard. But if you did it right most of the weight would be on the strut. What ever you do just remember that struts + marginably cold weather = a 150lb door in the face.

Reminds me one time of my hatchback...lotsa fun, struts gave out and i had to go to the hospitol and get stitches.

There's another maro thread floating around here that said you need fiberglass doors to do it and autoloc sells kits, but i'm with them, why do it??

And The lamborghini is not the only car company that does this staright up, America's very own Saleen S7 does this. Also, everytime i see this done on a C5 vette, I can't help thinking...that doesn't look so bad. But it's a c5 vette.
