Tranny Problems

Lately ive been noticing a transmission problem. When i place my car in to reverse it doesnt seem to actually get into gear right away. Sometime it takes 3-5 seconds of sitting there before the car starts to move. When i shift right away and give it some gas up to about 3500 rmps, it moves slightly then there it suddenly grabs and goes like normal. Transmisson fluid level is good. And this is the only problem with it. No problems in any other gears. Any help is appreciated.

This sounds like a sticking solenoid that is causing the issue. Take the car to someone with a trans capable scanner and have it scanned. This should identify the problem and let you know what needs to be done to correct it.

They blow out sidecover gaskets in the reverse channel casting. This could be your delay as it would only affect reverse.
