I have 1994 Suburban. To fix the antilock brakes, shop wanted $1500. Forget that, he assured me that brakes would work same as if it didn't have them. What I wonder - is there a way to keep the anti-lock indicator from lighting up or is it easy to disconnect?

You could pull the dash up and pull the bulb if you wanted the quick easy fix. You could also follow the light socket from the dash to where it branches off or maybe check if there is a fuse JUST for ABS and pull it. Not really recommended but if you don't want ABS and dont want the light you might as well just pull the bulb.

I had the same trouble. I replaced the ABS module on my 01 suburban once and refused to pay that price two years later when it went out again. I removed mine and sent it to ABSfixer.com. I'm happy to report $150 later it 's working just fine. You can still drive your vehicle after you remove the module just cover the remaining part with plastic, no fluid loss either.
