how hard is it? really....

so i have been looking at, compairing and dreaming on getting a suspension lift kit or a body lift kit (maybe both :naughty: )

i printed out the pics of the calmini lift kit and have taken it outside and compared the items in the photos to the items on the truck.

how hard is it really to do this? are there instructions that walk you through, pretty much step by step?

i mean, is it unbolt the old stuff and bolt on the new stuff...changing out the brake lines, lengthening the steering column, etc...no real machining necessary, right? :uhoh:

now, i've never played around with the suspension on these things...should i expect to do it in a week? (as opposed to the experienced weekend job)

of the 2 lift options (body or suspension) which is the easiest? (i think i know the answer, but just want to confirm)

what hidden parts do i need to purchase? (brake lines, steering lengtheners, etc) :confused:

Hi. Since you are looking for a lift and things, www.4x4wire.com has more info on this than you could ever read. Go to the isuzu forum section and search.

Ill give you the short version. Putting a lift on any isuzu is very easy, even for a novice. The tools required are basic. I would reccomend www.independent4x.com or www.darlington-offroad.com for aftermarket parts. If you have any questions, talk to matt at indy4x, and joe at darlington-offroad (the owners). They have the best customer service out there, and will walk you through the install if needed. This is from personal experience. :-)

i spent yesterday reading up about body lifts. it seems to be more involved then just putting pucks in there...messing around with the auto trans linkage and a few other things....not something i want to tackle at this point...so the susp lift may be the way to go... thank you very much for your info!
